STEAMPunk Walker

This was an internal creative project to turn a toy version of Theo Jansen's strandbeest into a steampunk-like walker, controlled by micro:bit - a tiny programmable computer designed to make learning coding easy and fun.

It's powered by a battery but designed to look like the motors are actually two steam engines, powered with a rear-facing boiler. The "engines" feature a piston and cylinder system complete with a camshaft that turns the linear motion of the piston into circular for wheels - legs in this case.
